Professional Journey
With 30+ years of experience, Mario guides organisations (schools, districts, ministries, colleges, universities, business and communities) through disruptive change, translating research into action to build AI-ready, learner-centred ecosystems. One of his strongest assets is accompanying organisations through leadership and system transformation aligned with the AI era, ensuring strategy, culture and technology evolve together.
Having recently moved on from his role as Director of Innovation, Research and Change at the District scolaire francophone Sud in Dieppe, New Brunswick, he is now a co-founder of MR5 InnovAction Solutions Inc. and an associate professor at the Université de Moncton (Canada). He leads the longitudinal study "Intr’Appreneur – Tomorrow’s Education Today," which explores how engagement, inclusion, wellbeing and agile learning environments shape societal innovation.
His research has been recognized internationally, with a cross-border network spanning institutions such as Harvard University, the University of Melbourne, the University of Alberta, and the University of New England. He has secured multiple research grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and other funding bodies, totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars to support groundbreaking work in educational innovation. Earlier milestones range from pioneering school and workplace space designs and leading 1:1 laptop/iPad deployments to helping establish Cameroon’s Centre Professionnel Don Bosco de Mimboman.
A dynamic communicator, Mario has delivered 150+ keynotes and panels across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Australia — including Education 2.0 (Dubai 2022) where he received the Outstanding Leadership Award. His peer-reviewed publications appear in AERA proceedings, Emerald and Springer volumes.
Combining real-world experience, an engaging facilitation style and applied research, Mario empowers leaders to rethink learning ecosystems and unlock every learner’s potential.
Organizational Transformation & System Leadership
Beyond educational research, he brings extensive expertise in organizational transformation and system leadership. As the CEO and Co-founder of MR5 InnovAction Solutions Inc., his 30+ years of educational leadership experience naturally evolved into founding a consulting firm focused on AI and organizational transformation. He partners with institutions and businesses to navigate complex systemic changes, leveraging artificial intelligence and innovative frameworks to optimize both learning and working environments.
The "5" Philosophy
The "5" in MR5 represents Industry 5.0, symbolizing the fifth industrial revolution where artificial intelligence and humans collaborate in harmony to reinvent organizations and their business models.
His consulting work focuses on empowering organizations to build inclusive, agile, and forward-thinking ecosystems. By applying evidence-based methodologies from his academic research to real-world organizational challenges, he helps leaders foster agency, entrepreneurship, and deep engagement within their teams.
Through MR5 InnovAction Solutions, he has successfully guided numerous organizations in rethinking their operational structures, integrating emerging technologies like AI, and cultivating a culture of continuous innovation and adaptability.
